Mmm, Autumn. The burnished colors, the crunching leaves, the chill, the cable knit sweaters, the apple cider. It’s like the earth is giving one final hurrah before it falls asleep, like a little kid running around the house 5 minutes before bedtime. Fall brings this relaxed but vibrant energy that I find hard not to get swept up in.
With that being said, I think it’s so much fun to celebrate the season with simple crafts like these graceful candle holders. Use them to make a dinner with loved ones extra special or to decorate around the house and bring on that cozy warm feeling. It’s up to you:)
You will need:
2 tall tapered candles
Paring knife (or apple corer if you’re lucky!)
Begin by shaving off the bottom of the apple in order to create a level candle holder.
You can now use the apple corer to core the apple unless you, like me, do not own one. In which case it’s time to break out the paring knife. Hold the candle in place and make small cuts around it to use as a guide when you begin carving.
Carefully carve out apple’s core until you have enough room for the candle. Insert the candle stick and light you’re beautiful new fall decorations.
Happy harvest time, friends!
